About me

Vanna Chan

Hardware engineer front-end developer based in Toronto, Ontario.

I have always had a natural fascination with the miniscule details and mechanics of how things worked which eventually led me to a degree in Mechatronics Engineering at the University of Waterloo. I love facing challenges head on and never cease to learn new methods to efficiently tackle these problems.

I am also passionate about design. But I learned from my previous career that I longed for visual design, not just regular-old-circuit-board design (ah, bummer) which led me to this career change allowing me to encapsulate my creativity and problem solving skills in everything I do.

When I'm not coding away for hours at a time, you may see me on a run along the Lakeshore, chasing some plastic with my ultimate frisbee friends or beating up poor-old-Bob (ouch).

Give me a shout and let's make some sick apps!

React | Firebase | JavaScript | Sass | HTML5

A very much needed ultimate frisbee statistics tracking app with a graphical feature for all my friends and teammates. Gone are the days of stats tracking with pen and paper, use my app to track how your players are doing!

JavaScript | jQuery | Sass | HTML5

Help save the sad but cute cursor man in a classic rendition of the hangman word guessing game with a category of Web. Development and Juno!

Kanye vs. Trump: Who Said It?

REST APIs | JavaScript | Pair Programming | Sass | HTML5 | Photoshop

Found two very interesting APIs and made a fun game out of it. Some quotes are easy, some not so much. See how well you do!

Special shoutout to my shower caddy for the super fly colour inspiration.
